Netwerk is a large-scale project involving access control to underground containers by order of the Dordrecht, Zwijndrecht and Papendrecht local authority. Besides ensuring a tidier street scene, this is also a service for the residents who can now dispose of their waste at any time.

The challenge
Van Drunen: “Dordrecht local authority wanted to better serve its people with underground containers so they could dispose of their waste at any time in the allocated containers. It is also the intention of Netwerk to combat improper use, and obtain more insight in the use and filling of the containers. Automation plays an important role in all this. Our starting points were: high availability, a flexible solution and cost efficiency. The time factor was also crucial because the solution was promised to the people of Dordrecht within the not too distant future. The challenge for the selected parties was to supply the correct configuration after a brief analysis.”
